Often spelled INUKSHUK, the INUKSUT is a structure of stones built on top of one another. An Inuksuit that is built in the form of a person is called "INUnNGUAT"

The different formations can be used as navigational and communication tools, some are built to mark hunting grounds, water holes, fishing areas and sometimes to mark danger.
